ISA Research & Development and Production
Effective Research and Development (R&D) in combination with an efficient production program is the basis for a successful and profitable breeding program for egg layers. It contributes to the profitability of our business partners: our distributors and their customers: the poultry farmers. R&D with the aim of to achieve genetic improvement is one of the cornerstones of the solid ISA layer breeding program. This is accomplished in state of the art R&D centers with layer pure lines. Our modern research centers house the big gene pool of ISA and are well equipped to create the best research environment for selection, through the newest technologies. Our pure line farms are under strict bio security control to prevent possible diseases.
ISA is also running an extensive field testing program. Here the bird performance is measured under field conditions.
The six ISA brands in white, brown and black are known for their high number of high quality eggs per hen housed. Also egg size, external and internal egg quality and feed conversion are important traits in the selection process.
The carefully kept ISA pure lines are the basis of the ISA gene pool.
The progeny of the pure lines: the GGPS (great grandparent stock) and its progeny the GPS (grandparent stock) are produced in special hatcheries and housed in specialized high health farms. The parent stock (PS) is produced in specialized, high health hatcheries in different areas in the world. ISA: for highly productive layers in all types of environments and climates.
