HACCP recogition ISA - Canada


During the March 25, 2008, Egg Farmers of Ontario Annual General Meeting, Production Manager Jeff Wilson was awarded plaques of recognition for Maple Lane farm and Oakdale farm in Cambridge, Ontario. 
The plaques were awarded for the successful application of the Egg Farmers of Ontario ‘Start Clean – Stay Clean’ HACCP program.  HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) recognition is very important in Canada and is an achievement we are very proud of. 

This designation means our Canadian farms meet or exceed the food safety guidelines required to make sure any surplus eggs we send to the table egg market are of the highest quality possible.
After many months of effort by all employees and managers at the farms, we were ready for our audit.  February 12 of this year, we had successful site and process audits of our operations. 
The process of certification started with the writing of our standard operating procedures.
The next step was to start the record keeping needed to show we are following our written procedures. 
After 6 months of record keeping, both farms were ready for the audits needed to achieve recognition.
The ISA North America hatchery is currently in the process of achieving HACCP certification.
