Danish Poultry Congress
The poultry business in Denmark along with the Danish Agriculture and Food Council organized the Danish Poultry Congress on February 2 – 3, 2010 in Brædstrup in Jutland.
More than 120 people attended the meeting, which had separate sessions for the egg sector and the meat sector. On behalf of ISA, Rafael Lera made a presentation on ”Feeding modern egg layers to optimize performance and egg quality”, an everlasting topic in our business due to the impact of feed on production costs. First the effect of amino acids and energy levels in performances was reviewed, and the second part was mainly focused in mineral feeding to keep a strong egg shell.
Many other relevant subjects were also presented in the congress, dealing with biosecurity, sustainability, animal welfare, egg quality, management and avian health.
After the working sessions it was time for relax and entertainment, and the participants could enjoy a superb dinner and then dance to the music of a live band.
Denmark houses about 3 million layers in production for the home market. Top Æg ApS is distributing the ISA products Hisex White and ISA Warren, well-known for their good suitability for different systems of production.
