Passing away of Ad van Hedel

BOXMEER, The Netherlands-EU, 8 February 2012 - It is with deep regret to inform you of the passing away of Ad van Hedel on February 4, 2012 at the age of 75. Ad van Hedel was responsible for the Hybro breeding program in the 80s and early 90s. Ad van Hedel came from a family farm in the south of The Netherlands, near Den Bosch. He studied biology with a specialism in (population) genetics and finished study at university in 1961 where he stayed one more year as an employee. Then he joined Euribrid where he started in the broiler breeding program. During his leadership Hybro developed to one of the backbones of Euribrid and became one of the leading suppliers of broiler genetics worldwide. He was responsible for the Hybro breeding until his retirement.
