AMEVEA Poultry meeting Ecuador
In March 2010, AMEVEA – Ecuador, the association of Ecuadorian veterinarian poultry specialists, organized the XIII International Poultry Seminar in Quito, a 3 day meeting under the motto “Producing in the Third Millenium”
About 400 people from Ecuador and the neighboring countries attended the meeting and took the opportunity to be updated on diverse management, nutrition, and sanitary issues. Scientific lectures took place in the morning while in the afternoon there was the chance for the companies to present results, new products and exchanging some technical information. Rafael Lera, veterinarian from the Technical Service of ISA, made a presentation on ”Genetic trends and progress of ISA Brown layers”, sharing with the main egg business specialists the consistent way ISA is working in its breeding program, the development of applying genomic selection and the expected genetic progress in the years to come.
The meeting was complemented with a commercial exhibition where AVESCA, ISA Brown distributor in Ecuador for more than 25 years, had a well attended booth. It was a perfect occasion to discuss with egg producers, veterinarians and technical service specialists and prove that the ISA Brown progress in production persistency, behaviour and egg quality is clearly observed in the field.
